I was born the same year as the European Union and I wonder what it actually represents? To find out, I'm embarking on an 8,500 km cycling tour of Western Europe. For seven months, I'll be meeting Europeans and asking them this very question.

From Catalan independence to direct democracy in Switzerland and finally to Brexit, I investigate European values. Are they cultural, political, or economic?
